In general, it’s important to keep in mind that orchids generally don’t tolerate direct sunlight. They also don’t thrive outdoors, especially in places where temperatures can drop below 15°C and exceed 30°C, as well as in environments that are too dry.
It’s also important to know that orchids bloom in spring, after a period of winter dormancy. If we have an orchid without flowers in winter, we should wait. If we buy a flowering plant in winter, we can be sure that it came from a greenhouse with artificial conditions and will therefore suffer in the home environment.
However, if we have an orchid without flowers and we want it to bloom, we must follow the precautions we suggest below.
1. Find a very bright location. Most orchids prefer sharp corners, but without direct sunlight. The more ambient light there is, the more likely they are to flower during the next active season. The ideal location is near a window.
2. Keep the growing medium moist
