While on the topic of restrooms, a TikTok video featuring comedian Freddy Quinne recently went viral. He discussed the unspoken “urinal code” that many men instinctively follow in public bathrooms.

According to Freddy:

If there are five urinals and they’re all empty, you must choose either the one on the far left or far right.

If urinals 1 and 5 are in use, go for urinal 3—the one right in the middle.

If urinals 1, 3, and 5 are taken, then it’s acceptable to use 2 or 4.

The point? Never stand directly next to someone unless absolutely necessary. It’s an unspoken rule, but universally understood.
