A growing number of people are ditching toilet paper in favor of a reusable ‘family wipe’
How does the family rag work?

The principle is simple:
- Pieces of fabric (cotton, bamboo, flannel, etc.) replace toilet paper.
- After use, they are placed in a closed container or airtight bag.
- They are washed regularly with the rest of the laundry, at 40 or 60°C.
Some people prefer to dampen their cloth with a water spray or a natural cleaning solution for added comfort.
And what about hygiene? Proponents insist that with a good wash, there’s no risk. Some use white vinegar, baking soda, or essential oils for even more effective cleaning.
But obviously, not everyone is convinced…
